Diamonds really are …

I just finished this very sweet Marilyn shoulder bag. It’s so cute and has a little wrist strap so you can use it as a clutch too!

I absolutely love Marilyn … and if you do too then you can even have the Marilyn  Tshirt from our Icon range to match the bag.

What more could a girl want … apart from diamonds of course!

Happy wine list …

We decided to have food in the pub over in the next village tonight. George, the landlord of The Dial at Lamphey, is a bit of an art and history connoisseur and his inn  has great food and lots of interesting art and curios.  Pembroke is the birthplace of the Tudors and the inn has three huge Tudor portraits of Henry VII, his wife Elizabeth of York and his mother Margaret Beaufort, proudly displayed over the fire place.

George commissioned Lee to paint three new portraits and these now appear in the bar panels.

Clever Lee created his own quirky version of the original Tudor portraits by giving each painting an intriguing twist.

The portraits of Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor and Diana Dors all now grace the Dial bar dressed as Tudors.

Tonight Lee was so completely delighted to find the story of the commission told on the back of the wine list tonight.

You know you’ve made it when your art appears on a posh wine list huh?

Gloves on …

Lee tattooed these pretty cool boxing gloves on a regular customer today. Midst tattoo they worked out that Lee has been tattooing him for a decade… fair play!

The customer is an art student and so he draws up the design he wants and then gives Lee artistic licence to transform it into a tattoo. Therefore these boxing gloves are a collaboration of two artists!

Damn fine work both ❤️

Business Skull …

This is the fab briefcase that Lee has just finished. Beautiful vintage  leather briefcase hand-painted to be another totally unique bag from Trashcan Emporium. We absolutely guarantee that there is no other bag the same anywhere!

I would sooooo love to keep this but we are putting it on the market for £100.  However I will probably cry when it’s sold. It’s absolutely   blinking awesome ❤️

Unique or un-Unique?

So I saw a little comment on Facebook that made me want to write this post. A lovely regular at our studio had shared a photo of our Two-Tone man T-Shirt that Lee had designed as a present for the son of our dear friend. The comment had been that our designs were not as unique as we were claiming.  So … I want to explain what we do …

Lee pulls an iconic image off the web, he then draws it out and shades it in a particular way so that it cuts well onto vinyl.  So as an example here is Neil Diamond under construction …

Lee then passes his hand drawn design to me and I scan it into my design programme and trace it. I then feed it into my cutting machine, hand weed all the teeny bits of detail out and pass it back to Lee. Lee places it onto our high quality “Fruit of the Loom” Tshirts and places it under our huge heat press machine to embed our design into the Tshirt.

The concept of our ‘Icon’ range of Tshirts is that the image is instantly recognisable, and so of course we use popular images. However,  I think,  that translating an idea from a photo image into scraps  of  vinyl that then emerge as the ‘icon’ is one helluva talent!  Soooooo … to clarify … our Tshirts  are ‘unique’ in that each vinyl image we  cut is Lee’s own artistic interpretation of the iconic  photo.

Here is our collection … what do you think?

Bags and bags and bags

So we have had a real crafty day today … we have been busy making handbags all day!

Lee has hand painted a gorgeous leather briefcase but I am keeping that under wraps for a little longer.

In the meantime here are a couple that I finished today.

What do you think?

Pipe smoking skull …

So Lee just finished this great tattoo … a beardy skull smoking a pipe … absolutely love this!

Another happy customer and creatively happy artist!

Ahhhhh it’s Ska!

We had a commission from a dear friend of ours who wanted a special design Tshirt for his sons birthday. He wanted the design to be Ska themed and Lee went to work on the idea.

The result are blinking fab and both father and son were so pleased when they picked up the Tshirts from our studio this morning.  The designs are now available for YOU to purchase too!

Why not dare to be different in a Trashcan Emporium locally designed and produced original Tshirt!

Oh and Happy Birthday Connor have a fabby day!

Skulls and Roses …

Lee has just created this fabulous calf piece yesterday on one of our regulars. It is a beautiful piece which compliments the calf piece Lee already created on the customers other leg.

The customer is hoping to turn both pieces into ‘socks’ eventually but in the meantime I think these are damn gorgeous tattoos!

Great work “Trash” 😄❤️

Icons for all …

So … today we have been mostly making Tshirts in our brand new and exciting Icon range.

Lee has been busy drawing up the images of some really cool icons, that either we came up with ourselves or someone suggested to us. Lee’s images are simply wonderful … seriously I just want them all!

Once each drawing is complete my task then is to scan them in to my design programme, cut them out,  and for the finishing touch I sew our Trashcan Emporium label onto the sleeve.

These are Tshirts individually produced with love and care, with unique hand drawn images. None of your mass produced stuff but something pretty special for those who dare to be different.

Reasonably priced and easy to order.

We will even create a Bespoke Tshirt with a photo of your choice for just £25.

What do you think? We make a good team huh?
