Crafty Stitch …

I am slowly working my way through my (lengthy) “Work in Progress” list and just finished by hand this gorgeous yellow jumper that came off the Empisal knitting machine many months ago. I used a simple pre-designed punchcard and the easy cut and sew method of shaping. The ribbing around the neck and arms was hand-knitted in front of the TV as was the cherry appliqué. Blinkin love love love it and it went on it’s maiden voyage today when I went for a browse in ‘Crafty Stitch’ in the St Govans Centre, Pembroke Dock and had the pleasure of meeting fellow sewist Jenny. Her store has some gorgeous fabrics, lots of important bits for the happy sewer and some great vintage sewing machines on display. It’s well worth popping in.

I think my gorgeous jumper has Trashcan Emporium all over it … what do you think?

Knit Fast – Die Warm ❤️

So … this is what happens when you pop off to the shops and leave your artist husband alone with the key to your Thread Shed …

Thread Shed open for business …

So it was the official launch of my glorious pink Thread Shed at the weekend. Friends and neighbours joined us for a Prosecco celebration as I cut the red ribbon and opened the door to my colourful creative workshop. From the Thread Shed there will be lots of sewing, knitting, creating and chatting, preferably over a coffee but possibly even a over a Prosecco or two!

Carpe Filum I say … (Seize the Thread)

Very Cherry 🍒

Knitting machines are just so much damn fun! So far everything I have created has been on a standard gauge machine and I have been building myself up to learning how to use my chunky machine. I finally played with it last weekend and in no time at all created this cute little vest top right out of my head. I used a swatch, a bit of maths, a couple of rows of crochet and a hand knitted cherry appliqué. I blinkin’ love it and think it looks pretty good with my cherry necklace! Ooooooh and a very kind lady has just gifted me a third knitting machine … creations, creations, creations….

Nautical Knit … I have been playing with my knitting machine …I truly love how creative I can be … I see something in my head and then create it by making a swatch and using some maths. Here is an absolutely unique nautical knit by yours truly … I love it with my 50’s style jeans … what do you think?

Colourful Sweary Bobble Hats …

So … our sweary bobble hats really have been in high demand! I am just working on an order of 20 for some very smart bikers in Brum. In the meantime I have been experimenting with some different colours, contrasts and bobble sizes. This colourful bunch of sweary hats will be available £15 each from the studio this afternoon!

What do you think?

Fu#k Cancer …

On the back of our sweary bobble hats, Lee’s best mate in Brum commissioned a politer version, but one with the incredibly strong and powerful message to ‘Fu#k Cancer’. Cancer stole my gorgeous little girl , my beautiful mother, my fun loving brother-in-law and my funny teenage cousin. It has also impacted so many other family members and friends. So I spent much of this weekend knitting up our latest design and this lovely lot will be posted off to their new owners tomorrow! If you want one for yourself then just drop us a message … each sale includes a donation to Cancer Research.

Oh and this is one bobble hat that I will most definitely be wearing with pride … Fu#k Cancer indeed!
