Winning Swing…

With us all in lockdown I hope you are all finding plenty of lovely ways to pass away the hours. Nowhere safer than your own little sewing room or ThreadShed to while away the time.

I have so enjoyed a quiet few days of sewing. I sourced this stunning Simplicity 1950s vintage pattern from a fabulous little market last Autumn. I made up my first one for Little Sister’s Xmas present using a beautiful pure wool houndstooth which I lined in red satin. That turned out to be my practice run as I have just made another for lil ole me… this time using Chinese Silk fabric that I sourced in the most amazing fabric market I have ever visited whilst on Hong Kong about 18 months ago. I have lined this one with a red poly cotton.

This gorgeous jacket only needs to be pressed but the thought of ironing it terrifies me … my sewing skills certainly outweigh my ironing skills!

If anyone needs help or advice on any creative projects that you might be undertaking during lockdown then I am happy to have video calls or messages!

Stay safe and healthy you all …

Fruity Cutey…

So … today I gave the knitting machine a rest and enjoyed a day of play with my sewing machine.

A little while ago I designed and made a really cute skirt in apple fabric which was inspired by those cute frilly 1950s aprons. Today I made another version in a fruity fabric.

Cute and girly with a little touch of retro in gorgeous fabric – this may well become my signature skirt under our Trashcan Emporium label ❤️

Diamonds really are …

I just finished this very sweet Marilyn shoulder bag. It’s so cute and has a little wrist strap so you can use it as a clutch too!

I absolutely love Marilyn … and if you do too then you can even have the Marilyn  Tshirt from our Icon range to match the bag.

What more could a girl want … apart from diamonds of course!
