Well … today I can share some of my brand new makes using my hand crafted miniature knitting needles. It all began as I wanted a knitting themed hair slide. I searched online in the usual places to no avail so decided to craft my own. They turned out so gorgeous I soon crafted some brooches to match.
I wore mine today and almost the first person I talked to commented on my beautiful hair slide. I think they are the perfect gift for a yarn lover. With Mother’s Day fast approaching I can gift wrap and post out directly to your lovely mummy enclosing a gift card and your personalised message. Or why not simply treat yourself to one?
£7.50 each plus £3 p&p for something quirky, unique and very different.
This week has been written off with the dreaded Aussie Flu … with nothing to do apart from cough I took to the needles … by machine and hand. I have knitted a pink Flamingo Scarf for myself which just needs some eyes, am half way through a nautical jumper using a 1930’s knitting pattern that I found free on the internet and also have a stripy scarf for Lee hanging off the machine. Sometimes creativity is just messy yeah?
So I love to knit … my beautiful mother taught me and my sisters when we were little. I always remember her knitting us such beautiful clothes and then of course knitting for our children. It hasn’t been that long since she hung up her needles really! We three sisters have all had our creativity gifted to us by our mother. Recently I have knit a ‘Trashcan’ jumper for Lee, baby clothes for friends, and dolls clothes for a dear little girl. I love this relaxing, old fashioned expression of art so much. Inspired by all this I asked Lee to design me a tattoo that would represent the love and creativity of my mum and my own love and enjoyment of knitting.
