Tattoo Kitchen …

Our kitchen was in desperate need of a revamp. When we moved in to the bungalow the solid oak units were painted cream and we did brighten the walls up with a splash of orange but it was always a little boring for us. A little spark of an idea for the up-cycle project came when the lovely Jo gifted us a pack of 4 tattoo style ceramic door knobs by ‘Temerity Jones’ and said “I saw these and thought of you two!” From those four door knobs has sprung a whole tattoo themed kitchen. We sourced more ‘Temerity Jones’ ceramic knobs and alternated the hearts and swallows throughout the kitchen with 27 new door knobs in total. The cream wooden kitchen units were painted in eggshell ‘Retro Chic” by Valspar and we were so happy to find some completely awesome tattoo and knitting themed wallpaper (I know just perfect huh?) to decoupage the centre panels from ‘Spoonflower.com’. The wallpaper has brilliant messages such as ‘Knit Fast Die Warm’ and ‘Born to Knit’ emblazoned over it which I just adore. A couple of coats of varnish later and our boring cream kitchen is totally transformed into a tattoo inspired bright retro kitchen!

Another mighty fine swap…

Lee is pretty happy after undertaking another mighty fine swap with our customer from ‘Boxed Blues.’ Joe had another dripping skull tattoo and Lee received a fab stomp box and microphone in return! (I just love that retro telephone mic). Once again it really is Pembroke currency at its very best!

Coffee Dregs Art…

When you are married to an artist I guess you shouldn’t really be surprised to find the dregs from the cafetière in the sink looking like this huh?

Teeny tiny Tiger …

Lee created a beautifully detailed tiger on John’s finger yesterday. I was in awe of how stunning it is despite being so small. John also had some pretty cool lettering on his knuckles. Lee definitely was definitely skilled enough to “Stay True” to the ultra fine detail of this grrrrrrrreat tiger tattoo.

Birds at sweet 16

Lee has been drawing and painting his whole life. We recently came across these beautifully drawn and very detailed birds painted in water colours thirty five years ago when Lee was just 16 years of age. They were created as gifts for his parents, with the Redwing for his mother and the Mistle Thrush for his father. Art to be cherished ❤️

Handy Skull …

Now as you know Lee is an old punk and his style and taste lean well away from the mainstream. So he just loves a day when he is able to create a tattoo that meets his full approval of cool. He absolutely loved creating this very unique and totally different hand skull tattoo … what do you think?

Loyalty to the Needle …

The lovely Dan is holidaying in Pembrokeshire and popped into the studio for a chat. He adored tattoos but his genuine needle phobia was preventing him having his first ink. Lee talked to him about the process and showed him the tattoo gun to demonstrate how Dan wouldn't see a great big needle. Just a few days later Dan booked his appointment and sat through his first ink without any issue at all. Well done Dan and well done Lee for your professionalism and patience with a very nervous customer. I reckon Dan will be back for some more ink very soon!
